Stage 14: Plateau de Beille

The first Pyrenees stage
A group of mostly Spanish riders was ahead of the peloton before they reached the final climb on Plateau de Beille. At the 5k to go mark, Antonio Colom was the leader. But he fell back and was passed by Rasmussen and Alberto Contador who were together until the finish line. Contador won the stage. Leipheimer finished fourth and is now also in 4th place overall. Alexandre Vinokourov had another bad day and finished way back in 81st place and more than lost all the time he gained yesterday. Tomorrow is another hard Pyrenees day and after that a rest day before attacking the Pyrenees for the third time.
