By Dave Hahn - March 31st, 2007

Follow all the action on Everest this season as eight-time Everest summiter and noted high-altitude guide Dave Hahn reports in day by day as he attempts the South Col route on Mount Everest. Hahn is an acclaimed mountaineering writer, who has contributed to Outside Magazine, as well as one of the most successful guides of the decade. As GreatOutdoors.com Everest correspondent, Hahn will send regular dispatches via satellite telephone as the climbers and guides of the 2007 International Mountain Guides Everest Expedition trek to Mount Everest and then attempt to climb the peak via the South Col route. Dave Hahn, climbing under the aegis of the IMG expedition, will be climbing with and guiding Larry Jones (See our profile of Dave Hahn).

This year marks the 16th time that IMG has assembled an expedition to the highest mountain on earth. IMG's Eric Simonson, who made history by leading the expedition that discovered George Mallory's body on Everest in 1999, will add expert commentary as summit day approaches. Expedition leader Mark Tucker will be available at base camp to further explain strategy and organization.

Stay tuned as the always compelling Everest saga begins a new chapter as the 2007 Everest season gets underway. Check back daily for updated information as GreatOutdoors.com correspondent Dave Hahn sends dispatches via satellite phone from various locations on the Mountain.
