The elite group of entrants just finished the first leg of the race. They are heading off to the second.

In the city area, there are a lot of people getting ready to ski about half an hour away from race time and the big story today is the "Hill(?) after this _____ most of us have done it see to the hill so. I wanna see some carnage. Be a good place to go.

Right now it's about 10 til 9:00 in the morning. Have some practice gears coming down, and race should be starting soon.

This is Aaron Talbot reporting from the base of Bachelor and base of the Pine Mountain where I haven't seen this many ____ since 1989, the technique used in this events where competitors slip their ski boots for a quicker transition from skate from the down hill ski to the skate ski. It saves alot of time having to unbuckle those boots and get your skate boots on.
