Deborah Harrington is a photographer for whom the great outdoors encompasses much more than the pursuit of adventure. “In the natural world,” she told GreatOutdoors.com, “I look for beauty that moves me. That can be in a butterfly’s wing, or the way sunlight falls on a mountain range, or the vibrant colors of a newly emerged flower. I can also find beauty in a sunset from Puget Sound, or in an ancient city in Italy clinging to a cliff. These things are all part of our natural heritage. As a photographer, I try to capture those ephemeral moments when light and subject and composition combine to create an image with staying power.”
