GreatOutdoors, this is Dave at Advance Base Camp on Mount Everest, we're about 21,300 feet here near the head of the Western Cwm and all is well. So Nicky Messner nm and I along with S, came up this morning, Casye Grom and his two climbers also came up to spend the night so this is the first night that member s of the IMG team are spending the night at Camp II. This is as high as we can go on the mountain right now, the arrangements only allow us be go this high so we're good right here. Nicky and I are acclimatizing. Boy our Sherpa team was putting in a rough morning cutting out platform from the ice and rock here, building up tents, and we're expecting a lot more of our team members to come into Camp II tomorrow, nine or 10 climbers down at Camp I tonight that are moving this way. For Nicky and I our plan is a rest day for acclimatization, so were just going to take it easy here at 21,300 tomorrow and then our plan would be to head down the day after that. Nice to be here. A little bit of a windy morning, we got up at about five a.m. down at Camp I, the winds were blowing, that actually helped us out a bit on the way to Camp II, keeping things from overheating too much having that air moving around. Not a bad day overall, the good weather is holding, blue sky up above. Okay, all for today, we'll let you know how things go.
Hey Dave!
Dave,
Mike Iem here, just sitting here in Maui on vacation with the family in 80+ degree weather knowing that you are having a great time on Everest. Hope to see you this year at Mt. Rainier. I am going to Patagonia this fall with 2 friends for 3 weeks! Take care and have fun on the big mountain.
