Hey, one more dispatch from Dave at 20 minutes after 10 in the morning. On this beautiful day it was confirmed that yesterday morning two Korean climbers were killed, we believe it happened some time in the middle of the night, they were climbing on the hard, hard route that I described on that Southwest Face of Everest up into a little gully toward the West Ridge. I don't know what height they had their accident. It's possible they were in there tents and were swept from the mountain by an avalanche. Don't know the circumstances. All we know their bodies were found fairly close to advance base camp yesterday morning. So that's a sad fact tempering our enthusiasm here this morning.. Of course we had to wait 24 hours, that the government of Nepal requests, they don't want western climbers breaking news like that, and we wouldn't want to spread that news before people's families had a chance to be informed. That time has gone by so we can confirm the accident. While sitting here at base camp right now I'm looking up at the north flank of Nuptse and there's two climbers climbing on incredibly steep ice, apparently midway up the face, they are Italian climbers, but they are on a very steep and dangerous route and they seem to be making good progress. So that's pretty easy to watch from base camp. All for now.
