Dispatch 13: Camp I Established

GreatOutdoors., this is Dave Hahn at Everest Base Camp. IMG Base Camp. We're doing pretty well here, you can tell if you're listening to this my voice doesn't work all that well. I'm getting over a quick and vicious sinus cold but it hasn't set me back too much. Larry Jones and I went out hiking again today out on the Khumbu glacier below the icefall, just ranging around, exploring, getting a little exercise, getting a little stronger every day. Lots going on here with a greater team, our group came back from Island Peak with my Mike Haugen and Casy Grom leading, and so... members all together sleeping up there tonight between 8 Western climbers and 8 Sherpas, so Camp I is established, the IMG Camp I is established and a bunch of loads made it up to Camp II, Sherpas did a good carrying job up to Camp II so a lot of loads are making it up to Advance Base Camp. The weather here is still unsettled, windy, blowing, big streamers a snow off the tops of the peaks and a little gusty down here but not so un pleasant, and lots more teams coming into base camp now.
